Speaker: Kevin A. Pelphrey, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Psychology
Yale Child Study Center
Yale School of Medicine
Dr. Pelphrey will discuss state-of-the-art research that uses brain imaging techniques to uncover the brain basis of autism. In particular, he will talk about work that might help us to understand why children with autism spectrum disorders often have difficulties understanding the actions and intentions of other people, and why they can be particularly prone to behavioral disruptions. Dr. Pelphrey will use this research to illustrate his perspective on autism as a result of problems in social information processing.
