Gianfilippo Coppola PhD
Associate Research Scientist in the Child Study Center
Dr Coppola gained his undergraduate degree from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Universita' di Napoli "Federico II" in Italy. He worked on unstructured spectral elements methods for non-Newtonian fluids in complex geometries.
After graduating he joined the Department of Aeronautics at Imperial College as Research Assistant and worked on particle tracking for high order elements.
Dr Coppola studied for his PhD in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Yale University, focusing on counter-flow turbulent diffusion flames under intense turbulence.
In 2006 he joined the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London as a member of the Cardiovascular Mechanics group, where he worked on cardiovascular diseases and medical technology.
Dr Coppola is now a Research Faculty at Yale University School of Medicine, as a member of the Vaccarino's Lab.
