Sara S. Sparrow, Ph.D.

Professor Emerita and Senior Research Scientist
Research Interests
My research has primarily centered on the development and assessment of adaptive behavior across a wide range of diagnostic groups of children and also across cultures. There has been a major focus on autism spectrum disorders and mental retardation. Assessment of children, who are gifted, have learning disabilities or emotional disturbance has also been major areas of research interest. Assessment of these same populations of children has been the major thrust of my clinical work. A third area of interest is in the training of mental health professionals at the doctoral and postdoctoral levels.
