Achieve Fluency is a private learning center and consulting service that
serves children with significant language delays. Our program focuses

Birth to Three Program
Birth to Three is a State of Connecticut program that aims to strengthen
the capacity of families to meet the developmental and health-related
needs of their infants and toddlers who have delays or disabilities. Children
under the age of three who live in Connecticut are eligible for the Birth

Hampstead Hospital Developmental Disorders Program
Our program provides intensive, acute inpatient treatment of serious behavioral
and psychiatric problems in children, adolescents and young adults ages
4 - 26 with developmental disorders such as mental retardation, pervasive
developmental disorders, and other severe developmental syndromes. Program
services are provided on two distinct inpatient units, with a total of
26 beds serving this population. Patient separation is based on age and
other clinical and developmental factors. Our program is the first specialized
psychiatric unit of its kind in New Hampshire and one of the few programs
in the country that integrates best practice standards from psychiatry
and behavioral psychology.

Verbal Behavior Institute
A small central New Jersey organization dedicated to the use of ABA "verbal
behavior methodology" as put forth and practiced by Drs. Sundberg and
Carbone. Focused on the use of "VB" by qualified staff in home and community
settings. The program is staffed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts
(or associate Behavior Analysts) and they work with both children and
adults using the techniques of ABA-VB to shape up adaptive communication
and decrease maladaptive behavior.

Autism Project of Rhode Island
The Autism Project of Rhode Island is a dedicated group of parents, teachers,
speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists and other related
professionals. It remains our mission to create a comprehensive system

Bradley Hospital - Developmental Disabilities Program
The Developmental Disabilities Program is a unique and highly specialized
clinical service for children and adolescents between the ages of 4 and
22 years who show signs of serious emotional and behavioral problems in
addition to a developmental disability, such as autism or mental retardation.
The program offers a variety of clinical services including: Inpatient,
Day patient, Residential, Home-based, Outpatient care and Research. The
program's staff is highly experienced and professionally trained in the
area of developmental disabilities and psychiatric disorders. The Developmental
Disabilities Program's model of care emphasizes family involvement as
well as continuity of care across its various treatment settings. Regardless
of where a patient is transferred within the program (inpatient, day,
residential, home-based or outpatient), the treatment team remains unchanged.
Patients and their families keep the same doctors, nurses, social workers,
therapists and teachers. The continuum of care model results in a seamless
transition of patients across treatment settings. We believe that continuity
of care is critical to effective treatment and that it is among the key
factors responsible for producing favorable treatment outcomes.

FEAT - RI
Families for Early Autism Treatment, Inc. (FEAT) is a non-profit organization
of parents and professionals, designed to help families with children
who have received the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including
Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), or Asperger's Syndrome.
It offers a network of support where families can meet each other and
discuss issues surrounding autism and treatment options. FEAT has a Board
of Directors that meets monthly to discuss issues, establish priorities,
and vote on the direction of the organization. FEAT's newsletter is published
quarterly and contains current news and events. FEAT has a Lending Library,
where families can obtain information about Autism and check out teaching
materials for their therapy programs for free. FEAT also offers Parent
Resource Meetings on the third Wednesday of each month, which are designed
to provide information to families, whose children have been diagnosed
with Autism and to provide access to a network of families who can be
supportive. Throughout the year, FEAT has parties, field trips, and fundraising

The Groden Center
Dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for persons with autism and
other emotional and behavioral disabilities. The Groden Center, Inc. has
been providing day and residential treatment and educational services
to children and youth who have developmental and behavioral difficulties
and their families since 1976. By providing a broad range of individualized
services in the most normal and least restrictive settings possible, children
and youth learn skills that will help them engage in typical experiences
and interact more successfully with others. Education and treatment take
place in the Groden Center classrooms, in the students' homes, and in
the community with every effort to maintain typical family and peer relationships.
The Center uses the most well-developed and effective modes of behavioral
treatment that emphasize innovative and theraputic procedures. The behavioral
technology is merged with our understanding of the ecology of the students'
everyday life in which we emphasize the acquisition of age-appropriate

through a series of stages, keeping goals and teaching strategies flexible

Pathways Strategic Teaching Center
Pathways Strategic Teaching Center is certified by the Rhode Island Department
of Education as a 230-day special education school. Pathways is a comprehensive
education and treatment program serving children with autism and related
disorders. Founded in 1998 through a collaborative effort between the
Kent County Arc J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center and local parents of
children with autism, Pathways is committed to utilizing scientifically
validated teaching strategies in improving the lives of children with
autism and their families. Education and treatment strategies are based
on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, an organized and systematic
approach that has been demonstrated effective in building skills as well

RITAP
The Rhode Island Technical Assistance Project (RITAP) is a statewide resource
center for technical assistance and support, professional development

CARD services are designed to build on the capacities of state and local
resources, not to duplicate or replace them. UM CARD is funded by the
Florida Legislature through the Florida Department of Education, and
all services are provided free of charge.
